The main concept of ‘Unplugged’ is to force students out of the conventional classroom setting and into an engaging environment where lectures are gamified, allowing the new tech-savvy generations to learn, and at the same time, play and have fun. ‘Unplugged’ also refers to the absence of electronic devices such as smartphones and computers in the ‘classroom’.
In preparing the students who will soon commence in programming lessons, a topic typically deemed mundane and difficult by students, this creative workshop ha presented the basic concepts of a programming language using a series of engaging and entertaining activities. The activities were intelligently designed as such that students can grasp the relevance of activities to real programming concepts.
